Motherhood is a 24/7 job. So, what is the best way to handle the demand and sometimes chaos that comes with parenting?

A 24/7 relationship with Jesus is the answer, says influencer and author Sadie Robertson Huff.

“I need God and I need the Holy Spirit to parent always,” Huff said on her “WHOA That’s Good” podcast.

The mother of three daughters, Honey, Haven and Kit, encouraged viewers to lean into God too.

“Yes, don’t put pressure on yourself for it to look a certain way. Your quiet time is not gonna be quiet. Your quiet time is probably not even going to be a specific time,” she said. “I would say 24/7 relationship with the Lord is so key. Like God is in it all, not just mercies in the morning, mercies all day, every day. Not just grace in my weak moments; grace in all my moments.”

Despite the lack of “quiet time,” she said her love for the Lord has only grown since entering motherhood.

“It’s because He’s in it all, and He really does provide the strength to be the mom that I am, and I’m so thankful for that,” the DUCK DYNASTY star said.

Huff addresses first time-mom anxieties, especially the fear of not knowing what to do.

“How could you know what to do? This is the first time you’ve ever done it. You’re not going to know what to do,” the 28-year-old said. “You lean into the Lord. You ask for wisdom.”

She encouraged her viewers to seek the counsel of other moms and read parenting books. Struggling and learning is part of the process, the Louisiana native reminded followers.

“[B]e confident that if God made you a mom. He will equip you with what to do…[E]very first-time mom feels overwhelmed, and that’s just a part of it, and it helps you become the mom you’re going to be and the woman that you are,” Huff continued.

In another episode of “WHOA That’s Good,” she addressed embracing the changes that motherhood brings. She countered the argument that women lose their identity as a reason to choose to be child-free.

“Well, yes, and in some ways, you do die to yourself, but…because we have a biblical background and a Christian mindset, we know that to die means to gain life,” Huff explained.

“I don’t look at death as a bad thing. We look at it as a positive thing. Because if we die to self, then we’re becoming a new creation and a better creation. And when I think about becoming a mom, I’m like, Yes, I died to my old self before I became the new self,” she continued.

Speaking of motherhood, Huff recently shared about her youngest, Kit’s, dedication.

“We are beyond grateful to have a church family stand alongside us as we raise up our kids! What a blessing!” Huff posted. “Kit, you are deeply loved and surrounded by those who want for you to know the love of God and want His very best for your life!”

What a beautiful reminder of how children are a blessing from the Lord!
