The Story

NO SPOILERS — WE KEEP THE SURPRISES

Chloe is a pampered Chihuahua from Beverly Hills who is left in the care of Rachel, the irresponsible niece of a wealthy socialite. During a trip to Mexico, Chloe is stolen, and Rachel returns with landscaper Sam and his Chihuahua, Papi, to search for her.

Meanwhile, Delgado, a brave German Shepherd and former police dog, rescues Chloe and helps her find her way home. An adventure filled with danger, friendship, and sacrifice follows.

Is It Any Good?

Four stars means this movie delivers excellent family entertainment. The directing is sure-handed, the script is lots of fun, and the story includes many twists, turns, and enjoyable moments.

The human actors do a great job, but the dogs are the real stars, brought to life by well-known celebrity voices. The production values are top-notch throughout.

The Worldview

The movie presents a very positive moral worldview. Its characters choose what is right and sacrifice for others, with a positive reference to prayer.

Rachel learns to become more responsible as she searches for Chloe. Delgado repeatedly sacrifices his own plans and puts himself in harm’s way to help her. Chloe learns to stop being “uppity” and become more down to earth. She also comes to understand that, despite her Beverly Hills background, she belongs to a “noble breed” whose roots are in Mexico.

The film’s emphasis on responsibility, humility, and self-sacrifice aligns well with biblical values. Its central lesson about giving oneself for another echoes Christ’s words: “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).
