The Worldview

The book presents a distinctly Christian, biblical, and moral worldview. It identifies the fear of being unnoticed or forgotten as a problem that can drive people toward overachievement, self-importance, destructive behavior, or criminal misbehavior. Those attempts to stand out and be remembered cannot provide lasting significance.

In their place, THE SIGNIFICANT LIFE teaches that real significance comes from being made in the image of God. God loves people, wants to answer their prayers, and desires to be involved in their lives. Through Jesus, He saves those who turn to Him from insignificance, destructive behavior, and overcompensation. He saves them to be free, love others, and find their purpose in life.

The book’s central longing is answered in the biblical truth that people are made in God’s image: “So God created man in his own image” (Genesis 1:27).

The Story

NO SPOILERS — WE KEEP THE SURPRISES

THE SIGNIFICANT LIFE explores why people fear going unnoticed and forgotten. It considers the different ways people try to prove their importance and explains why those efforts ultimately fall short.

The book then presents a Christian answer: true significance comes from being made in the image of God and knowing His love through a personal relationship with Jesus. Its questions for reflection invite readers to consider these ideas personally or in a group.
