Danica McKellar is heading back to Great American Family this holiday season, and this time she’s tackling a habit plenty of viewers know a little too well — the exhausting art of saying yes to everything.
“THE CHRISTMAS YES LIST beautifully captures what makes Christmas so special,” Great American Media President and CEO Bill Abbott told Woman’s World.
The movie, THE CHRISTMAS YES LIST, has just started production and will premiere as part of Great American Family’s Great American Christmas 2026 lineup, with additional airings on Great American Pure Flix and GFAM+. Based on the novel by Melissa Ferguson, it stars McKellar opposite Sam Page.
McKellar plays Chloe, a driven New York professional whose habit of putting everyone else first has quietly cost her the promotion she was counting on. She heads home for the holidays with a plan to finally confront her fear of rejection — and then a man named James walks in and complicates the whole experiment.
“This is a story about faith, family and the unexpected blessings that come when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, trust in something greater than ourselves, and say ‘yes’ to the opportunities we are given,” Abbott said.

There’s a reason that framing lands. People-pleasing often looks like kindness from the outside, but Christian audiences know the difference between serving out of love and serving out of fear. Scripture calls believers to love their neighbors, not to disappear into them — and a holiday movie that quietly makes that distinction is doing more work than most.
“Danica McKellar has a remarkable ability to bring intelligence, heart, and authenticity to every character she portrays, making audiences instantly connect with her journey,” Abbott continued.
He added that Page “brings warmth and quiet strength that perfectly embody a man who understands the importance of family, faith, and showing up for the people he loves.” Together, Abbott said, the pair creates chemistry that feels “deeply relatable.”
McKellar is no stranger to Movieguide® viewers. She and fellow Great American Family star Trevor Donovan co-hosted the 31st Annual Movieguide® Awards Gala at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood in February 2024, an evening that celebrated the year’s best in family-friendly and faith-informed entertainment.
“I’m incredibly grateful to make movies for Great American Family because of the joy and inspiration each provides to audiences,” McKellar said at the time, calling it “a thrilling opportunity” to co-host with Donovan and celebrate film and television “that uplifts and inspires.”
That resume tracks with the projects she keeps saying yes to. McKellar has built a second act on stories that treat home, family and faith as things worth protecting, and Great American Family has spent the last several years building an audience that wants exactly that.
Ferguson’s novel has already found a readership drawn to romance that doesn’t ask them to check their values at the door. Fans of the book can revisit Chloe and James on the page while they wait — the movie’s exact premiere date hasn’t been announced yet.
For families sketching out a holiday watch list, this one’s worth a bookmark.
