Demi-Leigh Tebow recently shared how hard it was to give her daughter over to God before she’d even been born.
It was a few days before Daphne Tebow’s birth when Demi’s husband, Tim Tebow, told her, “We have to give her to the Lord before she’s even born.”
This was something that Demi really struggled to process, as she couldn’t imagine Daphne not being fully hers. However, she knew the importance of it and came around. Now, she constantly prays for trust in God, as she trusts Him to watch over her.
“For us, it’s something we continue to pray through, a daily surrender, not just a one-time prayer, and honestly, it’s hard. If you’re feeling that same tension with your littles, I hope this is a reminder to keep trusting God’s plan for their life,” Demi said.
Daphne is now 13 months old. Something else that Demi has learned is to accept changes as a new mother and not wish for anything about herself to be the way it was before her daughter was born.

“Becoming a new mom, I’ve learned that you don’t have to go back. Back to your old life, back to the old you,” she wrote in another post. “You get to step forward into something so beautiful.”
Thinking this way has helped her have a much healthier mindset. Instead of asking herself how to get back to a place she was at before, she looks at what she needs right now.
Last September, Demi told The Christian Post that loving her daughter is a new kind of experience that she thoroughly enjoys.
“Every line, every sleepless night, it’s an honor to have those things,” she said. “Somehow I feel like I’m going to miss it. Those sweet little midnight feeding sessions and moments. … I know at one point I’ll look back and just miss those, too.”
She compared her love for her daughter to the love God has for his children. It’s something she never understood until Daphne was born.
“I think holding my own little baby for the first time and experiencing such an incredibly overwhelming love … and realizing that God loves me even so much more than this love that I’m feeling … has been very humbling and so encouraging,” she said.
Tim has been a supportive partner for her throughout her journey as a new mom. Every little moment has held meaning.
“It’s the way Tim makes my cup of coffee with my collagen protein in it every morning, the exact way I like it. Or just sitting with me in the middle of the night, when our baby just needs mom, and being in it with me,” Demi said. “That’s been so encouraging.”
Ultimately, Demi’s time as a mom has taught her that loving her daughter means trusting God with her life while embracing each precious moment along the way.
