Former NFL quarterback Russell Wilson visited the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and shared parts of his experience on social media.

“Christ is more than enough!” the Super Bowl-winning quarterback wrote in the caption of the post. The post featured Wilson wearing a “Jesus is King” shirt in front of the massive 98-foot tall statue. He also included a video meeting many different people, one of whom was a priest.

He concluded the caption with Psalm 46:1, which reads, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

In another post, Wilson shared a short devotion while at the top of the monument.

“On top of Christ the Redeemer right now, [and] I’m just thinking about what God has done, thinking about Hail Mary moments, thinking about what He’s done in my own life. Playing 14 years in the NFL, a small-town kid from Richmond, Virginia. They said I couldn’t do it, but I think about what God can do and what He can do in your life,” Wilson shared.

“I don’t know what you’re going through. I don’t know what you’re facing. I don’t know what challenges mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically, financially, whatever you’re going through. The only one that can heal it all is Him, Christ,” he emphasized. “So, I love y’all. Keep going. Keep believing. Remember, He paid the ultimate, ultimate sacrifice. Jesus is King.”

Wilson announced his retirement from the NFL earlier this summer and shared that he will be an analyst for CBS Sports.

“As I enter this next chapter with CBS Sports and THE NFL TODAY,  I’m so blessed to continue doing what I love most —being around the greatest game in the world,” he said in June of his new broadcasting venture.

Along with broadcasting, he and his wife, singer Ciara, have embraced their love of horses, starting the 3BRAND RACING team.

The couple owns horses Club Reign and Rugged & Wise. Over the weekend, Club Reign secured the first big win for 3BRAND RACING on the Travers Day card at Saratoga Race Course in New York.

“We like winning big moments in New York. We won the Super Bowl here; we win this. It feels like the same feeling,” Wilson said of Club Reign’s victory while in the winner’s circle with his family next to him.

Whether it’s on top of a mountain in Brazil or at home in New York, Wilson continues to put Christ first in all he does in life.
