Georgia Southern wide receiver Josh Dallas is so thankful for the chaplain who encouraged him to live for Christ.
“…Special shout out to Matt Wise, our team chaplain. Man, I’m just telling you, he’s done an incredible job telling us what really matters in life, which is having a relationship with Jesus Christ,” the athlete said in a video posted by Jesus My Goal.
“And the Bible says, ‘Whatever you do, do it with all your heart. As working for the Lord, and not for man,'” he continued, referencing Colossians 3:23-24. “And that’s how I started my live my life: to act in worship, to honor the Lord and play football, and go to film and do the best in my classes, and loving and serving my teammates.”
“So not everything that I do rises and falls off of just how I played on a Saturday. It’s how I did everything in my life, so I can be proud of the man that I was,” Dallas added.
It’s been an exciting time in the junior wide receiver’s life. He and his wife, Ashlyn, just welcomed their first child last month.

“Titus Dallas! Welcome to the world, little guy🤍 June 10th will always be so special. Not only is it your birthday… but your momma’s birthday as well! I literally could not be more proud of you @ashlyndallas_” Dallas posted on Instagram.
He praised his wife, too.
“You are a warrior, and what I just witnessed you do was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced!” he continued. “Even through the hardest of times, you choose to be faithful and full of courage, honoring the Lord! You are a true Proverbs 31 woman, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to be the mother of my child! Wow…just wow!”
In a 2022 post on X, Dallas wrote that he wasn’t ashamed to call Jesus his Lord, adding that God had saved his life. The declaration has remained a constant theme throughout his college career, as he continues to point to his relationship with Christ as the foundation of everything he does.
I’m not ashamed to say JESUS is my Lord! He saved my life🙏🏽

Dallas recognizes that his life isn’t measured by how he plays on a Saturday but by how faithfully he honors Christ in every role he holds — receiver, student, teammate, husband and now father. As he steps into this new chapter with his family, that foundation of faith looks less like a phase of college life and more like the framework he intends to build the rest of his life around.
