Lainey Wilson is back with another book that has been inspiring her lately and reminding her to talk to God about big decisions.

“I’m learning that not every opportunity is meant to be a yes. Sometimes saying no is what makes room for the things God is actually calling you to,” she captioned an Instagram video, where she spoke about reading Susie Larson’s Your Sacred Yes.

Wilson said, “That is something that I am learning about right now, and to tell you the truth, it’s really hard for me.”

The country singer talked about how the book describes different types of “yes”s, like the “sloppy yes,” where you are “saying yes impulsively,” the “shackled yes,” where you are “saying yes out of fear” and the “sacred yes” — “saying yes because…you believe [God] is leading you to that.”

“I think that healthy boundaries are important, and they’re biblical,” Wilson explained. “Saying no to the wrong things isn’t selfish…it’s allowing you to say yes to what God has actually called you to.”

She has previously shared other books that have resonated with her recently, including Aimed And Ready by Nico Smit.

“This book is great, y’all,” Wilson said in an Instagram video. “It’s about — you know, you pull the bow back. You’re aimed, you’re ready. The pull back is about preparation. It’s not a setback; it’s not punishment. Those waiting seasons…those are the seasons that have purpose…it just talks about how God can use setbacks as set-ups. And I’m learning that every single day.”

Wilson was recently announced as this year’s CMA host for the third year in a row.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be hosting the CMA Awards again this year, especially with it being the 60th anniversary,” she said in a statement. “I’ve had so much fun hosting the last two years, and this one’s going to be extra special. Can’t wait to see y’all in November!”

Despite her many career accolades, Wilson has made it clear they do not define her.

“I’m not just a singer, songwriter, musician — that’s what I do,” she told PEOPLE. “Trophies and awards are things that come along with success, but it cannot define me as a person, because that’s when I lose sight of who I am. I got to keep my head screwed on straight.”

Wilson’s recent reads are encouraging her to think more purposefully about how her faith interacts with her personal and professional lives.
