Nate Bargatze just achieved the Guinness World Record for most tickets sold for a stand-up comedy tour.

We’d expect nothing less from the most popular comedian in the world. His tour has sold approximately 2,016,254 tickets, which is 30,000 or so more than the previous record holder, Jeff Dunham, Variety reported this week.

Bargatze has also broke 84 individual venue records, his reps say. His success comes from his ability to appeal to audiences of all ages. His jokes are clean and easy to understand.

Guinness World Records recognized Bargatze for his feat in Toronto last week and presented him with a plaque, Broadway World reported. Bargatze also has the Billboard record for most one-year gross by a touring comedian.

Bargatze just launched his first movie, THE BREADWINNER, earlier this year. He currently has a $350m 100-acre theme park in the works in Tennessee, called Nateland. He got the inspiration from his first job at Opryland, which closed in 1997. He wanted to revive it.

“If I was going to just focus on arenas or that kind of thing, it felt like it was going be too much me…I wanted to focus on a place that I could have for people to bring their families to, and destinations to create memories with your families. I don’t think there’s a ton of that,” he said.

In May, his Nateland Experiences team began to look for local investors after completing a feasibility study. They also hired a lobbyist to promote the plan, the East Bay Times reported.

Design partner Storyland Studios made renderings of early concepts for the park. It shows at least three roller coasters, two tower rides, a nighttime water show, an outdoor boat ride and an Intamin Figure 8 Hubless Wheel and a comedy venue called “The Big Room.”

Nateland will feature four themed sections based on his Tennessee roots, his early comedy career in NYC, his expansion into movies, television, cruises and podcasts and an area styled after a 1990s shopping mall.

“I’m the Mickey Mouse,” Bargatze joked.

There will be a lot of entertainers, including up-and-coming comedians, and hopefully, Bargatze himself.

When Nateland Entertainment entered into partnership with Storyland Studios for the theme park, Nateland CEO Felix Verdigets said, “Nate and Nateland are committed to good, clean, family-friendly entertainment.  We live in middle Tennessee and recognize the need for a major attraction for people of all ages in the Nashville area.  We’re excited to see what our partnership with Storyland Studios will bring.”

So far, things have been moving pretty fast for the Nateland Theme Park. Fans may not have to wait too many years until it opens.
