NFL wide receiver Xavier Restrepo kept his confidence in the Lord before knowing if he made the Tennessee Titans’ 53-man roster for the 2026 season.
“I’m not too concerned with the outcome, you know. I feel like the whole process, I’ve taken advantage of each and every single opportunity that, you know, was presented. I think this is the best part of being a believer in Christ is just leaving it all to Him,” Restrepo said in the locker room, per Christhlete.
“You know whatever happens, I know that I’ll persevere through anything,” the wide receiver continued. “So, I’m just super thankful for the Titans even giving me this opportunity to be in the locker room each and every single day and being able to dress out the last three weeks and you know perform for the blue. So again, whatever happens, happens. But again, we’ll push through it.”
Last year, Restrepo went undrafted but was later picked up by the Titans. However, he still had to wait a long time before he ever saw the field.

“It was very humbling,” he told the Titans, reflecting on his rookie season. “But I think I learned so much through it, as far as being a pro each and every day, growing in my faith and being ready when your time is called. And, for the most part, I think every time I stepped in the game, I was productive. I feel I took advantage of my opportunities, and that is what the NFL is about.”
Even though it was a tough season, Restrepo leaned on his faith in God.
“My faith is the only thing that kept me going,” the wide receiver emphasized. “My whole life story, I have always been an underdog. But it’s different when you’re at your dream, and your dream is so close, yet so far away. And the only thing you can rely on is your faith. Through so many prayers, and even doubt, I talked to my Lord and Savior and let Him know I was struggling with doubt and worry and this business, it’s a ‘Not For Long’ business. And I asked Him to give me confidence, and give me the joy of the game back, because I was losing it. I’ll be honest: I was losing it.”
“But me playing football again, God answered my prayers, and I am just super thankful,” he added.
God answered those prayers, and this year, he is a member of the Titans roster, Yahoo Sports reported earlier this week.
“The places HE’ll take you,” Restrepo posted on Instagram following the news.
No matter what comes next, Restrepo can face life with the confidence that God is with him every step of the way.
