Disney+ will soon launch a new show about teenage witches, called COVEN ACADEMY, and it’s not the kind of content children should watch.

The synopsis reads, “In the haunted heart of New Orleans, COVEN ACADEMY follows three teenage witches and their dangerously charming warlock peers at an elite magic boarding school where power is currency, secrets are lethal and attraction is a liability. Caught between ancient supernatural wars and forbidden love interests, the coven must decide how far they’re willing to go to protect their city — and themselves.”

Culture is obsessed with witchcraft and the occult. But these things enslave and destroy.

“All the false religions and occult practices failed ultimately to deliver because the adversary promises but never really delivers,” Movieguide® founder Dr. Ted Baehr said. “In contrast, Jesus Christ always delivers on his great promises, such as His promise to give each of us a more abundant life and freedom.”

In 2023, “Trending with Timmerie” podcast host Timmerie Geagea said, “The satanic culture is real, witchcraft is real, and I think we live in a culture where we like to act as if that’s just something that is make-believe, cute and entertaining to see in movies, especially around this time of the year.”

However, that’s a ruse for the real. Satan is at work through witchcraft, and what he does is not “cute.”

In fact, there are several dark-themed Hollywood productions that have had terrible things happen to the people during or after filming that could be connected to the cast and crews’ acceptance and interest in the new age, satanism and other dark forces.

Director William Friedkin of the THE EXORSIST (1973) said “We were plagued by strange and sinister things from the beginning” of the project. “It is simply the hardest thing I have ever done in my life,” he said.

An actress in the movie, Ellen Burstyn, said nine people died during and shortly after production, including an infant.

At the start of filming, an entire set burned down, inexplicably. One crew member severed a finger while on set, another severed his toe. Two actors injured their backs. Four years after the movie came out, an extra murdered a movie reporter.

“If you shoot something for a year, people are going to get hurt, people are going to die,” said actor Max Von Sydow, “It’s very good for publicity but if you don’t believe in the devil, you don’t believe in curses.”

However, many believed the set was haunted, and Friedkin invited a priest to bless the set, who instead blessed everyone working on it.

“All throughout Scripture, witchcraft actually shows up as counterfeit comfort and counterfeit power,” Pastor Mike Signorelli said. “It’s always going to show up in a form to make you think, ‘Oh, this is how I’m going to meet the love of my life. This is how I’m going to prosper financially. This is how I’m going to excel in life.’ It always comes in the form of success,” but it doesn’t last.

Things like witchcraft and demon possession are real, and they aren’t to be taken lightly. Interest in these subjects to the point of children wanting to be like witches should be discouraged.
