Wile E. Coyote has finally reached theaters, but families hoping to bring his new courtroom caper home should keep their calendars in pencil.
“This is a celebration, it’s proof that movies don’t just go away,” director Dave Green wrote in a social post marking the release of COYOTE VS. ACME. The movie escaped a corporate shelf after nearly three years, yet one last mystery remains: When can families watch it from the couch?
The short answer is that no official digital or subscription-streaming date has been announced. HBO Max has not confirmed that it will carry COYOTE VS. ACME, and the Sept. 29 and Dec. 11 dates now circulating online are projections rather than studio announcements.
Parade predicted that the movie will become available to buy or rent digitally on Sept. 29, then reach HBO Max around Dec. 11. That forecast follows the path of Ketchup Entertainment’s previous LOONEY TUNES release, THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP: A LOONEY TUNES MOVIE.
That earlier adventure moved from theaters to premium digital after about a month and began streaming on Max on June 27, 2025, 105 days after its theatrical debut. Counting 105 days from COYOTE VS. ACME’s Aug. 28 opening lands on Dec. 11, so the estimate has a clear bit of Road Runner logic behind it.

Still, last year’s pattern is not this year’s contract. Ketchup Entertainment bought worldwide rights to COYOTE VS. ACME from Warner Bros., and in April the distributor partnered with V10 Entertainment to sell the movie’s pay-one streaming window and later rights. That arrangement means HBO Max is a plausible home, especially after carrying THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP, but it is not an automatic or announced one.
The unusual rights trail makes the familiar Warner connection easy to overread. Warner Bros. produced the movie, but Ketchup acquired worldwide distribution rights to this release; neither a studio logo nor the movie’s Warner origin tells families which service will win the subscription window. The eventual streaming partner must still announce its own date.
Families who do not want to wait can still catch COYOTE VS. ACME in theaters. The movie is also available to preorder through Fandango at Home for $24.99, though the listing does not currently give a release date.
The live-action and animated comedy sends Wile E. Coyote to court after one faulty Acme product too many. Will Forte plays down-on-his-luck attorney Kevin Avery, John Cena plays formidable corporate lawyer Buddy Crane, and Lana Condor and Tone Bell round out the principal cast.
For parents weighing whether to make the theatrical trip or wait for home viewing, Movieguide®’s COYOTE VS. ACME review gives the PG movie three out of four stars for entertainment quality. It praises the comedy’s themes of persistence, purpose and friendship while cautioning families about moderate cartoon violence, peril, explosions and brief light language.
That makes COYOTE VS. ACME a better fit for older children and LOONEY TUNES fans than for little ones sensitive to slapstick mayhem. Parents can reasonably watch for a digital release this fall and an HBO Max possibility near the holidays, but Dec. 11 belongs in pencil until Ketchup Entertainment, V10 or HBO Max makes it official.
