Teddy Bear Award® winner Candace Cameron Bure uses her walks as an opportunity to connect with God.
When you walk or exercise, “Do you listen to music? Do you listen to a podcast? Maybe the Bible? I do all of the above,” Bure said in a recent social media post.
She likes to go on “prayer walks,” where she talks to God throughout her exercise regimen.
Bure said, “The Bible says in Philippians 4, ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus,’ and so I am presenting my request to God as I walk. I’m talking to Him.”
She feels peace as she talks to God because she has full trust in Him. She also recites verses as she walks so that she can store them in her memory and heart.
“I can bring it to mind when I need it most,” the Great American Family actress said.

In a previous interview, Bure shared that her talks with God make her feel closer to Him.
“Prayer is my immediate connection to God,” she said. “That’s how I talk to Him and communicate with Him. Just like any relationship, when you are spending time with that person, and you’re talking with them, that’s where your relationship grows and develops, and you nurture that over time.”
No matter what’s going on in her life, whether it be happy, sorrowful or mundane, she always prays.
“He carries me when … I can’t take a step on my own,” Bure explained. “And He celebrates with me when it’s time to celebrate.”
She believes that when she prays, she is showing God that she trusts Him and is dependent on Him.
“I pray so much, and I see God answer so many things — to the smallest tiny things and sometimes really big things — but when I forget to pray and I stop praying — just a week or two goes by — I notice such a massive difference in my life,” Bure said on her brother Kirk Cameron’s TBN show. “It connects you to God so much because when you see the little prayers being answered, it’s reminding you every day God’s with me, God’s with me.”
Bure follows Paul’s instruction to continuously pray without stopping. When you constantly pray, you let God in and allow Him to walk with you wherever you go.
